The Great Backyard Bird Count is specifically set up to allow observations
for those on an outing, visiting a certain area, etc. That information is
captured when the submitter identifies the area where they were birding.
Just as a birder would specify his/her feeder watch area, so, too, can
someone specify a regional park, a neighborhood other than their own, etc.
The idea behind the GBBC is to count birds, wherever they may be. Jane
