Last year a pair of Cooper's Hawks successfully nested about 100 
yards from my house here in Salisbury. Today a Coper's Hawk was back 
in our yard making what I think are mating calls. The call is a 
somewhat horse Kkkkkaww, very unlike the flight call. I was away for 
10 day and only returned late yesterday so I don't know when the bird 
actually returned. However, there were very large bird droppings on 
the driveway that songbirds don't make.
