Today, en route to dropping my son at a playdate, we enjoyed close 
views of a Wilson's snipe by a rain pool off Beach Drive. This rain 
pool sits just south of Beach Drive's intersection with East-West 
Highway. The bird and the pool stood just beyond the goal of the 
first soccer field on the left as you head south. As a jogger passed, 
the bird hunkered down, disappearing in plain sight until she passed. 
Then the bird stuck up its head again.
