This morning I went to Ocean City MD for the Sea Watch bird count. The
whether was not that great but we managed to see some birds. birds I saw are
mentioned below.
Gannet
Black Scoter
Surf Scoter
White Wing Scoter
Common Loon
Red Throated Loon
Bonaparte Gull
Laughing Gull
Pintail Duck
Long Tailed Duck
Greater Scaup
Oyster Catcher
Purple Sandpiper
Bald Eagle
Forster's Tern
Double Crested Cormorant
Great Cormorant
a possible Common Eider
The hi light of the count was when a Harbor seal popped up in the surf with
a fish in his mouth.
I wish that I could stay for the whole day but I had other plans. But maybe
next year I will. This was my first bird count by the ocean and was different
then what I was used to( bird counting in PA). But because I moved down here
I decided to give it a try. And it was worth it.
