I was able to visit Gravelly Point again Sunday from about 1:30 to 3 PM (taking
my family with me for some quality time) to try to refind and photograph the
flycatcher, but it wasn't around. There were hundreds of people there, so not
a whole lot of bird activity other than a Mocker and some Songs. I did not
hear the Meadowlark at that time like I had earlier.
There were many ducks out toward Hains Point flying around, but distance
was not on my side and they appeared as tiny specks. With what I could
gather from the wing pattern/shape and overall body coloration, I think they
were a large number of Goldeneye, which would be quite a collection if true.
Did anyone else see them from Hains Point?
Thanks,
