Hi Everyone,

I went for short hikes in the Avilon tract of Patapsco Valley SP yesterday
morning and this afternoon. The most noteworthy birds were at least 18

additional highlights:

Yesterday (3/26), Howard Co. side of the Patapsco River:

25 species vocalizing
Wood Ducks--pair
Red-tailed Hawks--pair circling and vocalizing
Eastern Phoebe--1
Belted Kingfishers--pair flying together
Pileated Woodpeckers--vocal and conspicuous
First Groundhog of the year
Daffodils in bloom

Today (3/27), Howard Co. side of the Patapsco River:

Eastern Phoebe--1
Winter Wren--1
Golden-crowned Kinglets--18
Pileated Woodpeckers--vocal and conspicuous
First Eastern Chipmunk of the year

Have a great week!

Bill
