Moments ago a pair of Forster's Terns came up Leeds Creek to make a few
dives for us in front of our house. First of the year for this site.
In mid-afternoon today I took a look at the waterfowl that were using
the newest Pickering Creek wetland ponds. Best of the birds were
congregated at the pond farthest west beside Presquile Road.
    Species present:
        American Coot 18+
        Buffleheads 7
        Greater Scaup 5
        Northern Shoveler 30+
        Gadwall 2
        Ring-necked Duck 7
        Green-winged Teal 88+
        Mallard 8
        Canada Geese 3 pair nesting

An adult Bald Eagle passed overhead; many Tree Swallows claiming
bird houses; and numerous Song Sparrows in the grassy fields.
