Upper Shore Highlights

Hi Everyone, 

I spent Sunday (4/1) birding the upper Eastern Shore with Jim Brighton,
Tom Feild, and Mike Parr. The weather was overcast, often quite chilly,
with a few showers. Still, the weather could only partly disguise the
changing of the seasons. Skunk Cabbage, Spring Beauties, and Mayapple
peaked through the leaf litter, and changes in the avian community were
pronounced. Below are most of the highlights:

the butterfly garden.

Brown Thrasher--3, singing from exposed perches

* Pine Warblers, Chipping Sparrows, and Dark-eyed Juncos were all
sininging near the pines. At one point, we saw all three in one tree.
