While counting Woodcock at the Patuxent Research Refuges North tract,
we found a couple (2) whip-poor-will's had arrived. These are the earliest
that I've recorded in the 14 years
that I been doing things there. Has anyone else heard any yet ? We usually
note there arrival there the 3rd
or fourth week of April. They were a pleasant surprise, and yes we still had
3 woodcock still very active.
