As I was getting ready for work this morning, I saw something brown  
flying in the woods behind my house.  I grabbed my binoculars, hoping  
to see a wood thrush, but found a hermit thrush instead - a new bird  
for me.  I was able to keep it in sight for a few minutes, but  
unfortunately it never sang.
