Over here in Talbot County the Wild Turkeys are doing well, and I know of at
least one flock of 'domestic' Turkeys. The domestic flock, along Rte 33
between McDaniel and Sherwood, has a dozen or so birds, with all sorts of
mixed colors - some much like the wild variety, some with white on the
wings, and at least one that is fully white. They are typically seen quite
close to a woodland where careful inspection shows them to be near a house.

Along Bozman-Neavitt road a few weeks ago there were 70 in one group,
including seven toms showing some display postures. Closer to my place,
along Bruffs Island Road for the past two months there have been up to 27
seen at various times.

About 20 years ago, one of my son's scout leaders had a summer place in West
Virginia. He reported that someone had released 24 pen-raised birds near
his summer place, and within two weeks there were 26 reports from local
folks who claimed they had harvested one of those birds.
