Hello, 

We didn't see much along the Potomac this morning: a
couple of Bonaparte's Gulls, a handsome Caspian Tern,
about 35 Buffleheads, more Double-crested Cormorants,
Mallards, Canada Geese, the three large common gulls,
one Tree and one Barn Swallow.  Hearing the Talking
Heads "Heaven" (" ... is a place, where nothing,
nothing ever happens") on the radio summed up the
morning.  

Part of our birding involved being in the Littlest
County in the Vast Un-named Land To The South.  We
walked upriver from Gravelly Point.  No meadowlark,
alas, but some close robins and singing whitethroats. 
We did see a couple of Horned Grebes in DC waters kind
of close.
