I just noticed two WCS that have lost (?) their
distinctive headgear and are sporting a very mixed up
array of white and dark head-feathering. I assume
this reflects a changeover from the juv. brown-white
striping to the adult black and white. I've also
noticed for the first time that both juv. and adult
birds have gray feet in contrast with their pink legs,
or perhaps it's a sign that it's time to get the bird
bath out of mothballs... :)
