Weather:
Mostly cloudy becoming partly cloudy; 45-55 degrees; winds strong from, the
W or WNW, 9-22 mph, gusting to 30 mph; good to excellent visibility
Raptor Observations:
A delightful day for a hawkwatcher: many birds low in the strong winds;
Ospreys, harriers, kestrels, and Merlins all day long. A substantial
number bayside located with a telescope (Thanks, Lynn and Hal!). More
Kestrels already this season than 5 of the last 6 season totals.
Non-raptor Observations:
A Northern Gannet sighted four separate times (maybe the same individual)
over a several hour period flying between Baltimore and Anne Arundel
counties, not seen previously since 4/15/92. Hundreds of swallows (Tree,
Barn, and Northern Rough-winged) plus Purple Martins
