Today, Jeff Culler, Shashi Lengade and I spent about 2 1/2 hours at

Canada Goose 20
Mallard 6

Ring-billed Gull 2
Caspian Tern 1
Mourning Dove 1
Belted Kingfisher 1
Red-bellied Woodpecker 1
Downy Woodpecker 2
Northern Flicker 1
Eastern Phoebe (heard)
Blue Jay (heard)
Crow 'species' 5
Tree Swallows 173
No. Rough-winged Swallows 3
Barn Swallow 10
Carolina Chickadee (heard)
Carolina Wren (heard)
Golden-crowned Kinglet 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
Eastern Bluebird 8
American Robin 15
Northern Mockingbird 2
European Starling 17
Yellow-rumped Warbler 2
Black-and-white Warbler 1

Common Grackle 12
Brown-headed Cowbird 6
House Finch 2
American Goldfinch (heard)

Afterwards, Jeff and I went to Forebay Pond at the northeast corner of Lake
Elkhorn in Columbia, and found the male Northern Shoveler, a good Howard
County bird. It has been there for a few days.
