   This afternoon I traveled to the western and northern parts of the county from Union Bridge to Union Mills. I started with an adult Bald Eagle perched along Route 75 on the Frederick County side of Union Bridge.

Cooper's Hawk  1 adult made an unsuccessful pass on a dove
Solitary Sandpiper  2, my first of the year locally
Snipe  12
Chimney Swift  6
Rough-winged Swallow  3

White-eyed Vireo  1 heard
Warbling Vireo  1 heard

Canada Goose  2
Wood Duck  2

Study Rd:
Canada Goose  15
Mallard  2
Blue-winged Teal  1 female
Goldeneye  1 female, here since last fall

Field Sparrow  2

American Bittern  1, my third of the spring which is extraordinary

Meadowlarks were scattered round in several places.
