A friend of ours who lives in the country is baffled by some odd crow
behavior. Anyone have any theories? Most birds don't have much of a sense of
smell, so there must be some other factor at work. Sure hope the bird isn't
feeding soap to its nestlings.

| So, to keep the deer away from the garden, I carefully cut up and placed
| pieces of Irish Spring soap all around. It worked in the past, but
| sometimes I thought the chipmunks used to run on the stones and knock
| them off into the grass. This time, I saw a crow making off with a piece
| and suddenly realized that most of the soap was missing. Out of about 70
| pieces, we have fewer than 10 left. A crow walked right up to the garden
| this morning to get some more.
