A really great morning in the park brought species #99 and it's a doozy: GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER! I took two special trips to the mountains to see this species last year after a few years of missing it closer to home, but this morning there he was. First seen foraging in a big elm tree on Fessenden across from the park, then at gorgeous close range in a smaller elm in the southeast area of the park. Re-finding him may be hard, but good luck to anyone so inclined.
Plenty of other new arrivals today, too:
Black & White, Black-throated Green Warblers, and Redstart (plus a Palm and tons of Yellow-rumps)
Blue-headed Vireo
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO
Baltimore Oriole
