Hi everyone:

I realize this is short notice, but Paul O'Brien and I are planning
on another Yellow Rail chase on Monday night and are checking to see
if any other teams wanted to participate in canvassing likely Eastern
Shore habitat. We picked Monday night since it was before the next
front and being a work night, the traffic on the Eastern Shore back
roads should be light.

We are going to do Elliot Island Road and thought that it might work
better with a second team to start from the other end of the road and
work towards us. We would plan to meet a second team at the Vienna
Shell station at 8pm on Monday. We figured that we would start to
search about 8 pm and go as late as around 1 am.

We also wanted to find a team to work Rumbly Point Road in Somerset
County again.

There might be other suitable roadside habitat for trolling for YERA,
around Blackwater NWR, like maybe Bestpitch Road or Shorter's Wharf
Road. If anyone knows of any good spots and wants to join in, the
more teams the merrier.

If anyone finds calling rails, we would pass the word via cell phone
and then head to that spot. (The objective here is obviously finding
calling rails as MD "state" birds!)

If you are interested and available, let me know. You will need a
YERA tape/CD/MP3 ... or bring two stones.

Or if you have ideas re additional suitable YERA habitat on the
Eastern Shore, please chime in.

Thanks.

Phil
