In Columbia at the pond upstream from Lake Elkhorn I saw my first Solitary 
Sandpiper, Common Yellowthroat and Orchard Oriole of this spring. The male 
Northern Shoveler and Blue-winged Teal were still at the same pond. Also 
present were a Rusty Blackbird and a Barred Owl. 

Yesterday I saw a Red-headed Woodpecker in woods along Ruggles Road in 
northwest Carroll County. Really attractive when it moved into the sunlit side 
of the tree it was working on. Sorry for the late posting.
