Hi,

After work, from 5:30 to 7, I birded the boundary road around GSFC, much of
the time with Tim Ray. The most remarkable thing was the number of Myrtle
Warblers - every few minutes 5-10 would cross the road and once about 20
birds flew over at once. Easily over 100 Myrtle Warblers. They are on the
move! Other birds seen include:

Wood Ducks - pair
RS Hawks - pair - one on the nest
Phoebe - 2
Wood Thrush - 4 singing, 1 seen
Catbird
Ruby-crowned Kinglets 6-8, several singing
BG Gnatcatchers - ~10
Yellow Palm Warbler - 2
Myrtle Warblers - >100
Black and White Warblers - 4
Ovenbirds - 4
Scarlet Tanager - 1 nice male
WT Sparrows - several, 1 singing
Plus Chickadees, WB Nuthatches, Bluebirds, Barn Swallows, and some other birds.

The weather was cool and gray - perhaps the birds were particularly active
to get ready for any bad weather that might come through.

Tom
