Telecommunications plan in Rock Creek Park

The National Park Service in Rock Creek Park is asking for comments to help 
develop a long range, overall plan for telecommunications facilities in the 
Park.  Many birders opposed the present two cell hpone towers and it is important 
to show an interest in this new plan NOW.  It is required by the court.

mailing list for further developments.
 
NPS and the phone companies talk about lack of coverage on Beach Drive.  The 
Audubon Naturalist Society took an initial position of "no action." (at least 
until the bird study is finished in 2008).
 
I  also want the final plan to provide that the public has influence on where 
and when for any new facilities.    NPS must require that companies use 
existing facilities and share facilities to avoid duplication.  For more info,
