Relatively quiet (birdwise) today at the park. There's some
nasty construction going on at the Nature Center
unfortunately. I spent much of my time at the Maintenance
Yard, where 2 of us heard CERULEAN WARBLER. Other warblers
observed by me: BLACK-AND-WHITE, NORTHERN PARULA, AMERICAN
REDSTART, BLACK-THROATED BLUE, BLACKPOLL (I was surprised to
find 4), CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER (FOY, at the yard),
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER (had a nice private look at a singing
male at the Dog Run), and BLACK-THROATED GREEN. I may have
heard a Common Yellowthroat at the yard.
Other good birds: YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO (heard only), SCARLET
TANAGER, INDIGO BUNTING, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, BALTIMORE
ORIOLE, RED-EYED VIREO, YELLOW-THROATED VIREO (FOY, at the
yard), and RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD. Others reported Blue
Grosbeak and Red-winged Blackbird.
