Dear All

Greg Butcher and I were able to spend ten minutes looking at the pond in
Consititution Gardens this morning. The water level has been drawn down for
dredging so theres' some nice edge habitat for shorebirds and, true to form,
they've found it. We got there just after 8am so it was already quite busy
with joggers etc but there were still 3 Least Sandpipers, 2 Solitaries and
Lesser Yellowlegs around the wet edges of the pond. Also on the pond were a
few Mallards, a single Coot and a pair of Blue-winged Teal. In the trees
around that area were a nice Scarlet Tanager, an Orchard Oriole and a singing
warbler that Greg thought was probably a Tennessee (we didn't have time to
chase it).

The pond looks really good for shorebirds and is well worth a drop in if you are
passing as you never know what might be on there.

Cheers
