Captain Allan Foreman will be running his legendary fast boat the
"Country Girl" to the Gulf Stream on pelagic birding trips on June 1,
2, and 3. Trips leave out of Manteo, NC.
Leaders include the infamous "Three Amigos" on their reunion tour,
Paul Guris, Mike Fritz, and myself. We each have extensive offshore
experience, work well together, and love to get out to the Gulf
Stream. We're friendly (after coffee and before beer) (well, the guys
are friendly anyway), and our goal is to help you enjoy the trip and
the birds.

Trips are $120 per person, group discounts are available. This is the
boat you've read about - top speed for following rarities is 30+ knots
in calm seas, cruising speed in the mid 20's. We'll bird out to and
beyond the 1000 fathom line for rare gadfly petrels and the more
expected shearwaters and petrels, weather permitting of course. We've
had good luck this weekend in the past for rarities that some
associate more with Memorial Day weekend.

Nearby landbirding is excellent too, I can provide information on
Alligator River NWR (Swainson's Warbler and Black Bear, reintroduced
Red Wolf), Palmetto-Pear Tree Preserve (Red-cockaded Woodpecker).
Manteo is an hour shorter drive than Hatteras, and these land birding
sites are much closer to the dock as a result (just in case we're
weathered out or you want to spend extra time in the area). Closer to
Manteo the Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head Dolphin Watch, Bodie-Pea Island
Light are all nearby so there is lots to do for those non-birding
family members.

To book a trip, see countrygirlcharters.com or call 252-473-5577.
Questions, email me at See you on the boat - we
can only save your seat for a few days, better book soon!

Captain Foreman has reserved August 18 and 19 for late summer birding
opportunities on the Country Girl.
