Had a great morning birding the Locust Grove Nature Center in West Bethesda and along the Cabin John Stream Valley Trail north of the Center. Saw and heard a total of 55 species. Highlights were two separate female Wood Ducks with 8 and 6 young with them, lots of Swainson's Thrush and Northern Parula, nest-building Northern Orioles, Orchard Orioles, and Scarlet Tanagers, and Spotted Sandpiper. But not as many warblers as I wanted (since I'm still early on the learning curve for their songs). A complete list follows from my eBird report.
