After our Laurel May count post yesterday, David Mozurkewich
pointed out that Cliff Swallows have been known to nest in
the vicinity of the Rocky Gorge Reservoir (T. Howard
Duckett) dam near the ball fields. So, we went there today,
and sure enough spotted a single CLIFF SWALLOW (a satisfying
but brief look). One day late for the count though! As a
bonus, we got a long, close-up view of a SAVANNAH SPARROW
foraging in the grass at the edge of the fields. A male
SCARLET TANAGER flew over as well. Full eBird report:

Notes: A follow-up to yesterday's count after a birder
noted that Cliff Swallows have nested in the vicinity of the
dam and ball fields in the past. And sure enough, we saw a
Cliff Swallow. And a Savannah Sparrow! Cool, breezy,
sunny.
