Our party (Tom Strikwerda, my wife Sherry, and I) counted Saturday along
the north shore of the Triadelphia reservoir in Howard county. Of
greatest note was an Olive-sided Flycatcher hawking insects from the top
of a dead snag at the Pigtail recreation area. Otherwise, the count was
rather slow with many common birds not seen. In the warbler department,
we had 18 species but only 6 were non-breeding: Magnolia, Black-throated
Blue, Black-throated Green, Blackpoll, Chestnut-sided, and
Yellow-rumped.
