Six warbler species were found during the three hours before the rain
started at Soldiers Delight this morning. One of the two Yelllow-breasted
Chats perched for extended viewing form the power line cut on the white
trail. We also enjoyed seeing the Prairie (9) and Pine Warblers (2.) The
Hooded, Worm-eating, and Black-and-white Warblers were identified by song
only. The Summer Tanager was heard was singing just as the rain started at
9:30. By the time we got to the best place to see it the rain was coming
down and the tanager went into stealth mode. Another nice surprise was
hearing both the Yellow-billed and Black-billed Cuckoo.

Great location, great birds, and a great group.
To the birders that came and made the walk very enjoyable ...thank you.
