This morning I went down to Bladensburg Waterfront Park at low tide
to see if anything might be on the mudflats. There wasn't much - a
couple of Great Blue Herons, several Killdeer, some Canada Geese
(with nearly-grown youngsters), and the usual blackbirds. Then I
crossed the footbridge and walked downstream on the Anacostia Trail
(on the west side of the river). The Willow Flycatcher was singing
and flying from perch to perch in the trees bordering the small marsh
at the top of the hill. In the same area I also saw and heard an
immature male Orchard Oriole and an Indigo Bunting.
