A brief early morning walk along the C&O Canal near the Fletcher's boathouse
resulted in the following observations
(SI = heard singing) :

Acadian Flycatcher (SI)

E. Phoebe (SI)

Red-eyed Vireo (SI)

American Crow

Barn Swallow

Carolina Chickadee

White-breasted Nuthatch

Carolina Wren (SI)

House Wren (SI)

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

N. Parula (SI)

Song Sparrow (SI)

N. Cardinal (SI)

Brown-headed Cowbird

Four fledgling Barn Swallows were observed sitting on wires above a
foot-bridge over the canal. One of the fledglings undertook a short
food-begging (?) sally after an adult in flight, presumably a parent.
