Today I saw the first hummingbird of the season in my backyard,
feeding on my recently opened Bee Balms. I was ecstatic, but not for
long: I noted that the stems of the red BBs (not the pink ones....)
looked quite bare. All leaves within one foot of the ground were
gone. I have little doubt that this is the work of the otherwise
adorable young rabbits that have been around.
Someone recommended Liquid Fence to keep the rabbits off. But I don't
want to repell the hummingbirds. Are they sensitive to noxious
smells? Other recommendations?
Thanks in advance,
Evelyn
