This morning between about 1030 and 1055, several
observers saw an adult King Rail from the top of the
observation platform. It was on the right-hand edge
of the pond, walking along the shoreline, then
apparently bathing briefly and preening. It was never
completely out in the open while I was watching it,
but nevertheless offered good enough views of itself.
During this period I saw a Least Bittern fly from west
to east (left to right) off in the distance,
disappearing from view behind the sales building.
