Had the best look at any Yellow-Crowned Night Heron anywhere around 715 this
morning. The bird was on the North shore of the lake, just a bit west of the
East bridge. Nearly filled the field of my 10x. Gave me both profiles,
head-on, and then a great yawn so I could inspect its interior (pretty dark
there). It finally flew down towards the dam - didn't find the bird again.
Also a Spotted Sandpiper.
