Decided that I deserved something better today and had lunch at Clyde's by
lake Kittawatchamacallit. Didn't have birding in mind or I'd have brought my
binoculars. Besides the Barn Swallows zooming around, I noticed a lot of
Great Blue Heron activity at the south end of the lake. Or maybe the north.
The end to my left.

Anyway, it looked like about a half-dozen or so milling around. One of the
"herons" landed and flashed a white tail and I finally realized what the
disturbance was about. Nice adult Bald Eagle. The herons drove it out and it
moseyed up toward the restaurant, now being hassled by three grackles or
something similar. I guarded my salmon carefully and pointed the eagle out
to the guy-in-charge when he came by to inquire as to my welfare. He seemed
to enjoy the spectacle and asked a few questions.

In flying there is the "$100 hamburger" database of places to fly and eat.
Is there something similar listing good birding restaurants? If not, it's
time to get to work on one...
