A very pleasant four hour walk, mostly in shaded areas, enjoying a rare July day
that was pleasantly cool, breezy but sunny, from 1015 to 1410. A total of 39 spp.
of birds observed, plus a no. of insects. Seen or heard*:

Mallard--a hen w/5 nearly grown young
Great Blue Heron--several
Great Egret
Green Heron--a welcome sight, for a change.
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron--adult and immature-
Turkey Vulture
Killdeer
Spotted Sandpiper
Mourning Dove
Belted Kingfisher
Red-bellied Woodpecker*
Downy Woodpecker*
Pileated Woodpecker
Acadian Flycatcher*
