So what kind of gull is that?  The only one I've seen with that 
red-black-red pattern on the lower mandible was the Black-tailed Gull on 
the CBBT about 10 years ago, but they shouldn't be in Scotland.  Is that 
pattern seasonal?  (The CBBT bird was seen on Feb. 1.)  I don't see a 
gull in my new Collins that matches very well the bird shown.
