Hello, birders.

I paid my first ever visit to KAG this afternoon. It
was a very pleasant outing. After watching an adult
full-grown, begging Red-eyed Vireo being fed by it's
parent, I happened to look straight ahead to see an
adult YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON perched on top of a
snag. This location is in the swampy woods at the
head of the River Trail before you reach the marsh
with the bench. After a couple of minutes the bird
flew down to the ground to stand there and presumably
hunt.

From the end of the boardwalk, I saw 7 peeps fly from
the marsh. A starling was flying with them.

Before going home, I swung by the Kwik-E-Mart in
Bladensburg! It was awesome! I grabbed a Squishee
and a Buzz Cola and took lots of pictures! Woo-hoo!
