Hi Folks,

Jim Brighton called me about an hour ago, on his way to look for a reported
Red-necked Stint at Skimmer Island in W. Ocean City. From what I can
gather, Sean McCandless and Parke John found the bird and felt pretty good
about the ID--a peep with a lot of red on the neck and throat. George Jett
and Gwen Brewer were there and George photographed the bird, but from a
great distance (from Hooper's?), and is not sure his photos will clinch the
ID. More eyes are needed. Low tide should be late afternoon or early
evening, so shorebirds which have probably left as of noon today should be
returning to the flats. In the afternoon, best viewing will probably be
from Hooper's Crab House, but it may be pretty busy on a Sat.
afternoon/evening; tomorrow morning viewing might be best from 2nd, 3d, or
4th St. in OC, and the middle of the OC bridge might be good at any time of
day.
