The Dickcissel along Egypt Rd south of Cambridge was singing at the 4714
address around 4:30pm. Also present was a Bobolink and singing Bobwhites,
Grasshopper Sparrows, Field Sparrows, Meadowlarks, and Blue Grosbeaks. At
the Higgin's Mill Pond the shorebirds included Killdeer, Least and
Semipalmated Sandpipers, Pectorals, Solitarys, both Yellowlegs, and one
Spotted Sandpiper. An Eagle swooped down and spooked the shorebird flock
and pushed the birds towards the back of the pond with many of the birds
landing out of sight so there could have been other species present.
