Fran and I went out this morning to find the DICKCISSEL Jim Brighton
reported yesterday. The bird was not found at the 4714 Egypt Road
address but as we drove north from that location I heard the bird
singing about a quarter mile further along. Pulling over, I was
able to locate the bird and both Fran and I got photographs. After
the pics, the bird picked up and flew south, back toward the 4714
address. The field there, on the west side of Egypt Road, all along
that little cluster of houses, seems to present great habitat for
meadowlarks, bobwhite, field sparrow, grasshopper sparrow, and, of
course, the dickcissel. (Dickcissel seen about 9 am)

Along DeCorsey Bridge Road we saw Tree, Barn, BANK, and Northern
Rough-winged Swallows all clustered together on a phone wire.

Returning along Bucktown Road toward the Cambridge Airport, we
turned right onto Cordtown Road, just south of the airport runways.
In the field south of Cordtown and between Bucktown and the railroad
tracks, we found 4 UPLAND SANDPIPERS no more than 20 feet from the
road's edge, allowing both of us to get some good pics and video.
(Uppies seen about 10 am)

Not a bad morning!

Norm
