1970s Maryland Birders:

Especially Chan Robbins, Danny Bystrak, Jim Stasz, Hal Wierenga, 
Harvey Mudd, Paul O'Brien, Mark Hoffman, Bob Ringler, Dotty Mumford, 
et al. Plus, Marshall Iliff and Matt Hafner.

The previous 1977 version of the Maryland "Yellow Book" (Field list 
of the birds of Maryland, 2nd edition) lists a "hypothetical" 
sighting of a Black-throated Gray Warbler on 12/16/1974 from Epping 
Forrest in Anne Arundel County, MD. A related account in the 
Mid-Atlantic regional report in American Birds 29(3):675, 1975 
reports two birds in Virginia during this same period, indicating a 
possible movement.

I have tried to run down this sighting once before without success, 
but thought I'd give it one more shot before I give up.

So, does anyone out there have any knowledge of this report? Since we 
have a date and location, the name of the observer would an excellent 
confirmation and addition to the database. Any other details would be 
icing on the cake.
