Good morning,

Paul Pisano and I co-lead an Audubon Naturalist
Society field trip to Rock Creek Park DC. The best
species was Red-breasted Nuthatch. There may have
been as many as three, with one putting on a nice show
50 feet in front of us, foraging on the ground as well
as in trees. Other satisfying birds were at least
three Baltimore Orioles (one an adult male), a
Blackburnian Warbler (not an adult male), Canada
Warbler, Worm-eating Warbler, Yellow-throated Vireo,
and Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. I wasn't keeping
track of species, but I believe that all the people
present had a combined total of at least 40 species,
and probably more.

Cheers,

Rob Hilton
