I saw the continuing juvenile Little Blue Heron at the Lake Elkhorn dock today
(9/1). It stayed next to the path, eating bugs including a cicada, and posing
for cell phone photos. A Great Egret was near the bridge at the upper end of
the lake. The Least Flycatcher was at the garden plots along Oakland Mills
Road north of Lake Elkhorn. Other migrants seen in the area were
Blackburnian, Chestnut-sided and Magnolia Warblers, Northern
Waterthrush,and a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
