Jane Kostenko and I ran up to North Beach marsh this
morning. When we arrived, Stan and Elaine Arnold were
there. So was the American Avocet. It was all alone in
the shallow near the road. No sign of Jim's
Black-bellied Plovers, though.

Stan was commenting on where all of the Snowy Egrets
had gone from yesterday as there were only two
visible. Just then three joggers ran north past the
creek and spooked them up. Stan and I both arrived at
a count of 44.
