At 7:00 am on Sunday, I spent 15 minutes watching Cardinals. The air was
misty and the bushes and trees were dripping moisture. At first I thought
the Cardinals (about 8 of them) were looking for insects in the trees. But
the longer I watched, I realized that they were bathing in the very wet
leaves. They would fly from thick patch to thick patch of leaves, dive in
and flutter around like they were bathing in a bird bath. They got very wet
and then sat and preened a while. The sun was not yet hitting the trees.

Among the usual yard birds, I saw one Baltimore Oriole, 2 Red-Eyed Vireos,
and a female Common Yellowthroat.
