Your note about the blackened mourning dove reminded me of something I
meant to post last week. On Labor Day I found a pile of 40-50 dead mourning
doves in the margin of one of the back fields at Hughes Hollow. All had been
shot and likely retrieved by dogs. MD DNR posts the hunting limits for webless

Clearly someone exceeded their 12 per day limit and shamelessly piled up the
carcasses.
