There were a good number of migrants moving through the trees at
Schoolhouse Pond this morning. Particularly good were the sunlit trees
between the pond and the townhouses. Highlights included a 1st fall
Chestnut-sided Warbler and a male Red-breasted Nuthatch. Other warblers
included several Common Yellowthroats, an American Redstart, a Prothonatary
Warbler, and a Northern Parula. Also present was a Scarlet Tanager and a
calling Rose-breasted Grosbeak (heard only). The Trumpeter Swan continues
and I also saw the juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron.
