Mea culpa. Rob Ringler suggests PALM WARBLER (western race)
in place of American Pipit for my 9/16 fall count report
around Laurel, PG County. Fortunately, I was suspicious
enough of this bird to record audio notes, and they match
Palm more consistently than pipit. Evidently I was misled
by the bird's foraging behaviour (in the open with House
Sparrows) and surprising resemblance to American Pipit
(streaking, pale supercilium, white outer tail feathers,
tail bobbing). Well, another good learning experience. :)
Thanks Bob!!
