As Gary A. mentioned, it was pretty slow around the Ridge and Maintenance
Yard of Rock Creek Park this (Sat, 9/15) morning. After birding those
areas, I went to the Dog Run Area, and actually found a few migrants. Just
off the parking lot I found:
Red-tailed Hawk - 1 imm. overhead
Common Nighthawk - 1 overhead
Baltimore Oriole - 2
Scarlet Tanager - 1
House Wren - 1
Swainson's Thrush - 1
Unident. Warbler (possibly Mourning, but I didn't see it well enough to be
sure) - 1
Plus many robins and several catbirds.
Good birding,
Paul P.
